Kang
When
I was 3 years old, my family immigrated to the United States from
Seoul, Korea. Though I was raised in a Korean household, I
consider myself culturally American. As a result, English is my
first language though I am basically fluent in Korean.
At
Furman University, I received a BA in Asian Studies which
cultivated an appreciation and love for other cultures.
Immediately after graduating, I went to China as an English
teacher for a year with ELIC (English Language Institute of
China). During this year, I taught English to college students and
middle school teachers in the Northeast area of
China.
Currently,
I have applied to dental school at MUSC and hope to begin studying
next year. |
